Capacity Framework

How Production Credits Work

One simple system for different types of videos. Not every video takes the same amount of work. A simple 8-minute video is very different from a 45-minute multicamera production.

Think of a credit as a unit of editing capacity.

Final Video Length Source Footage Allowance Production Credits
Up to 15 finished minUp to 60 minutes1 Credit
Over 15–30 finished minUp to 120 minutes1.5 Credits
Over 30–45 finished minStandard or complex syncfrom 2 Credits
Over 45–60 finished minExtended narrative scopefrom 2.5 Credits
60+ finished minUnusually large / multicamCustom Allocation
Final length is only one factor. Source footage, multicamera editing, motion graphics, B-roll research, sound design and project complexity may change the credit requirement. We confirm this before production starts. No surprise charges.
Production Windows

How long does editing take?

We prefer realistic deadlines over impossible promises.

Final Video Length Estimated Production Target
5–10 minutes2–3 business days
10–15 minutes3–4 business days
15–20 minutes3–5 business days
20–30 minutes4–6 business days
30–45 minutes5–7 business days
45–60 minutes6–8 business days
60+ minutesCustom schedule

These are estimated production targets, not guaranteed delivery dates unless expressly stated in a signed SLA. A 10-minute video created from 20 minutes of clean footage can be much faster than a 10-minute video created from four hours of footage.

What Can Add More Time?

Some projects simply need more work. Turnaround can increase when a project includes:

  • • Large amounts of raw footage
  • • Multiple cameras
  • • Advanced motion graphics
  • • Extensive B-roll research
  • • Difficult audio & complex storytelling
  • • Missing files or major changes after editing has started

When Does the Clock Start?

The turnaround starts when we can actually start editing. The production clock begins after KannStudio receives everything required:

  • • Source footage & required access
  • • Complete instructions & scripts
  • • Brand assets, logos & references
  • • Any other material needed to begin

If important files are missing, production has not started yet.

48–72 Hour Priority Target

Can you deliver in 48 hours? Sometimes. Eligible Standard projects on Priority plans may qualify for a 48–72 hour production target.

Requires a complete brief, all files ready, manageable source footage, standard editing requirements and available production capacity.

We do not promise “48 hours for everything.” We promise clear expectations.

Transparent Capacity

Choose the production capacity you need.

Monthly capacity retainers engineered for agencies and marketing teams. Every plan begins with scope qualification to protect project fit.

Extra Capacity

Busy month? Add capacity without changing your whole plan.

If you temporarily need more production, additional Production Credits can be purchased. This allows you to increase production without immediately changing your monthly plan. Pricing depends on your plan and the type of work required.

Unused Credits Policy

What happens if I do not use everything?

Up to 25% of unused credits may roll over to the next billing cycle, calculated in 0.5-credit increments. Rollover credits must be used during that next billing cycle. This gives you some flexibility without allowing unused production to accumulate indefinitely.

Production Guidelines

Two Revision Rounds Included

A revision round means one consolidated list of requested changes:

  • “Change the title.”
  • “Lower the music here.”
  • “Remove this section.”
  • “Use this shot instead.”

First Project Confidence Policy

Corrections required because KannStudio did not follow the approved brief do not consume a revision round or credits. We correct errors directly.

What is not a revision? A new idea is not a correction. If the original brief changes after editing has started, the work may require additional Production Credits (changing editing style, adding new footage, changing script, or new structure). We tell you before additional capacity is used.
Confidential Operations

White-Label & Confidentiality

Your client does not need to know we exist. KannStudio can work behind your agency. You keep the client relationship; we handle post-production. Your clients can receive the final work through your workflow and under your brand.

Your work stays private: KannStudio is built around confidential production. We work under NDA.
Zero Portfolio Publishing: Client material is not published in our portfolio or marketing without written permission.
Predictable post-production infrastructure built for enterprise agency trust.
The Difference

More than editing. A managed post-production system.

You are not simply paying for editing time. Your plan includes production coordination, quality control, workflow consistency, revision management, backup capacity and confidential delivery.

Our goal is simple: You send the project. We make sure it gets finished properly.

Production Guides

KannStudio Learning Center

Essential guides to mastering our credit system, preparing assets, and ensuring predictable turnarounds.

1. Production Credits Explained

Production Credits are simply a way of measuring how much work a project needs. Think about moving house: moving one small room is not the same amount of work as moving an entire building. Video editing works the same way. A simple project needs less production capacity; a longer or more difficult project needs more. Credits make that difference easier to understand.

2. Why Video Length Is Not Everything

Imagine two videos: Video A is 10 minutes long and comes from 20 minutes of footage. Video B is also 10 minutes long but comes from four hours of footage. Both final videos are 10 minutes, but Video B takes much longer to review, organize and edit. That is why KannStudio considers both finished duration and production complexity.

3. How to Get Your Video Faster

Good preparation saves a lot of time. Before sending a project, try to have: your footage organized, a clear brief, brand files ready, references prepared, scripts finalized and feedback from your team agreed. The fewer unanswered questions we have, the faster editing can begin.

4. How Feedback Works

Try to send your feedback in one clear list. Instead of sending five messages at different times, collect your changes and send them together. This helps the editor work faster and reduces mistakes.

5. What White-Label Means

White-label means KannStudio can work behind another company. For example: an agency sells video production to its client; KannStudio edits the videos; the agency continues managing the relationship with the client while KannStudio stays in the background.

6. Why We Do Not Promise 48 Hours for Everything

Because different projects need different amounts of work. Promising the same deadline for every video would not be realistic. We prefer to tell clients what can actually be delivered. Standard projects can often move quickly; complex projects need more time. Quality comes first.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Production Credit?

A Production Credit is a simple way to measure editing work. A normal Up to 15-minute video usually uses one credit. Longer or more difficult projects use more credits.

Why not simply charge per video?

Because videos are not all the same. A 7-minute talking-head video might be simple. A 7-minute video created from four hours of footage and three cameras requires significantly more work. Production Credits make the capacity difference predictable.

Is every video one credit?

No. As a general guide: Up to 15 minutes = 1 credit; Over 15–30 minutes = 1.5 credits; Over 30–45 minutes = from 2 credits; Over 45–60 minutes = from 2.5 credits; 60+ minutes = custom. Complexity and source footage can also affect the number of credits required.

Will I know the cost before you start?

Yes. If a project falls outside the normal scope, KannStudio will tell you before additional credits or charges are applied.

Do you guarantee 48-hour delivery?

No. We do not promise 48 hours for every project. Eligible projects on Priority plans may qualify for a 48–72 hour target when all materials are ready, the brief is complete, source footage is within normal limits, and the style is already defined.
